My roommate left our apartment and went to live with her family for the remainder of our lease.  After she left, I rearranged the furniture in the living room to create a more social space and an area to display my artwork.  It looks and feels so much better that once my friends saw it we immediately had a party, which never would have happened with the old arrangement.  Also, seeing/envisioning art on the wall is motivating me to make more
