I've been drawing after work and on the weekends, not enough but it's a start. If I can remain consistent I think this could go somewhere.
Some goal setting might be good at this point.
1. Sell $500 (AUD) of artwork by 18 March 2016
2. Sell $3,000 by July 1 2016
3. Sell $10,000 by 31 December 2016
The money is to go towards real estate investments, which can help free up time for more art practice.

Reboot
I just logged into deviantART after being away for about 5 years or so. It's funny to look back at the few clumsy drawings and paintings I posted back then. I feel that wash of embarrassment mixed with nostalgia and it makes me smile.
Since last being active on DA I have graduated from a design program and moved to Sydney, Australia. I currently work at a landscape architecture and urban design firm, where we develop projects alongside architects, urban planners, engineers, etc. Visual representation of ideas is key to the job.
So for both professional and personal reasons I am interested in Rebooting my quest to improve my drawing (and
My Gallery
My roommate left our apartment and went to live with her family for the remainder of our lease. After she left, I rearranged the furniture in the living room to create a more social space and an area to display my artwork. It looks and feels so much better that once my friends saw it we immediately had a party, which never would have happened with the old arrangement. Also, seeing/envisioning art on the wall is motivating me to make more :)
Real Classes
Started some sweet summer classes at Austin Community College this week - welding, CAD, drawing I, and painting I. My goal for the drawing and painting classes is to make some stuff that's good enough to sell to family/friends by the end of the class. Not trying to make a profit, just trying to cover some of the cost of materials.
btw my first painting is looking repugnant.
First Watercolor
I bought some brushes and sketch paper to go with my brother's cheap water colors that were in a closet of my memaw's house. I just finished putting up the mess after making my first painting, and my god I suck.
I know it's generally not beneficial to compare oneself to others, especially in art, but I can't help but feel discouraged as I browse through some of the artists on DA. There are so many who are younger than me and already far better than I'll ever be. Sigh.
